Dena Linn Fiction

You're mature, but things still scare you.

The Bully is a bit of flash fiction, picked up and published on line.

Writing is learning and for me, writing is about living.  Words live in many different ways.  In this flash story, I tried to, using less than 650 words, discuss the complicated issues of ‘bullying’  and ‘to be  bullied’. A simple children’s issue? Never, as bullying exists in many aspects of adult life and one can even bully themselves, by negative thoughts.   In The Bully, I hope to illustrate the feelings of being alone, being judged or judging others and to ask: ‘Who do we learn these behaviors from?’ and how do we learn our lessons about hurting and being hurt?   I have not been writing for long, and am realizing of late, the slog, the battle, and the joy of creating with my mother’s language.
